Our website, www.rjzshop.com , started from a smaller business venture on eBay however, Ricks knowledge of coin-op machines started when he was a teen. Working side-by-side with his parents and his family, they owned and operated Pittman Amusement from 1978 – 1994. Supplying games to businesses and operating several game rooms of their own, Pittman Amusement became a successful business venture throughout the explosion of the game room business in the 80’s. This is where Ricks love of buying, selling, restoring, repairing, and maintaining coin-op machines started. For over 30 years, Rick has acquired his experience in the coin-op field from the many hours spent learning how coin-op machines work. Rick also attended technical classes conducted by the various manufacturers of video games and pinball machines to enhance his knowledge. As with any young boy, his love for machines started with tearing one apart and putting it back together and graduated to him designing, manufacturing, and leasing his own machines to casinos in Las Vegas and Reno, NV in the early 90’s. With the introduction of the World Wide Web, Rick found a way to make some extra money while doing what he loved most. In 1995, when eBay first hit the scene, Rick was one of the early sellers to take advantage of the new platform. He set up a seller account and began selling pinball machine manuals. Selling the manuals that he had gotten with the games that he purchased for Pittman Amusement, he saw how much money he could make selling items on eBay. Rick began to purchase and resell products such as manuals and parts to increase his income. Jeanne was one of the kids that ran home from school to grab her money and head off to the nearest grocery store to play Pac Man. She remembers times when she was out with her parents and begged her father for money to play in the game room while he and her mother shopped. At the store down the street from where she lived she was known as the Pac Man Queen and spent hours (and quarters) trying to master the game. While Jeanne’s knowledge of the coin-op world is not as fluent as Ricks, she brings something different to the business that seems to bring it all together. When Jeanne was 16, her father had been the Tax Collector in her hometown for years. She was now at the age to start working and there was no better place than with her father and the rest of her family. The office employed her mother, two older sisters, and at one time her aunt, and a dear family friend. This was to be the beginning of her knowledge in excellent customer service and care. Who better to learn from than a father who had to deal with angry people? Through the years Jeanne has worked in various customer service fields including 10 years of experience in a call center setting. Customer service is Jeanne’s passion and the area that she feels most comfortable in. Jeanne is dedicated to giving customers the superb customer service that seems to be lacking in the business world today. PayPal did not exist in 1995 when eBay started and the only form of payment was cash, check, or money order. Sellers had to wait for days to be paid for an auction and buyers had to wait until sellers processed the sale and shipped the item out. Now, money changing hands happens with a click of the mouse and eBay trading took off. In 2003, Rick and Jeanne were married. Residing in Willow Hill Pennsylvania with their four dogs, Rick and Jeanne decided to make the leap from successful eBay sellers to successful website owners.
